Privacy Policy

                TL;DR — Your code never leaves your machine. Instant Approve is a local-only tool.
                We collect no code, no telemetry, and no usage analytics. The only network traffic is license key
                validation against the LemonSqueezy API.
            

1. What We Collect

Instant Approve collects no user data. Specifically:

No source code, file contents, or file paths are transmitted
No telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting data is collected
No browsing or usage behavior is tracked
No cookies are used

1b. Anonymous Feedback Reports (Opt-In)

When a command is blocked and you choose "Report as false positive" in the extension dialog, the following data is sent anonymously to our feedback server:

The blocked command text (truncated to 500 characters)
The matched ban pattern name
The engine type (CDP or Hooks) and extension version

This report contains no personal information, no source code beyond the command text, no file paths, no workspace names, and no user identifiers. No IP addresses are stored.

                You can opt out by unchecking the "Report as false positive" option in the
                blocked command dialog before pressing Enter. No data is sent unless you explicitly leave
                the checkbox checked.
            

2. License Validation

The only network request made by the extension is for license key validation via the LemonSqueezy API (api.lemonsqueezy.com). This transmits:

Your license key (to verify it is valid and active)
A machine identifier (a truncated hash of your VS Code machine ID, used to enforce device limits)

No source code, file contents, editor state, or any other workspace data is included in this request.

3. Local Data Storage

Instant Approve stores minimal state data locally via the VS Code globalState API. This includes:

Your license key and activation status (cached locally)
Free tier usage timer (minutes used today)
A flag indicating whether the welcome message has been shown

This data never leaves your machine and is stored within VS Code's own extension storage directory.

4. Third-Party Services

We use LemonSqueezy for payment processing and license management. Their privacy policy governs data collected during the purchase process (name, email, payment details). We do not have access to your full payment information.

5. Website

The Instant Approve website (instantapprove.pages.dev) does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts. We do not use Google Analytics or similar services.

6. Children's Privacy

Instant Approve is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated via the extension's changelog.
